Michelle Turnbull

Michelle Turnbull began teaching English and the Humanities in 2005. She received her BA in English from Wagner College on Staten Island and her MA in English Education from Brooklyn College. Michelle taught high school English for 14 years in Brooklyn, NY.
Currently, she teaches English Literature and Composition at Bergen Community College in New Jersey. Michelle is a huge proponent of OER and open education. She created a Humanities OER textbook in collaboration with faculty and staff at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn. This text won an OE Global Open Reuse/Remix/Adaptation award in 2023.
Michelle’s areas of interests include literature, art, music, history, philosophy, Shakespeare, theater and poetry. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English as well as Omicron Delta Kappa the National Leadership Honor Society whose focus is on community service.
