Jackeline Bucio-Garcia

Dr. Jackeline Bucio-García is a Full-time Associate Professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), affiliated with the Open, Distance, and Blended Education Department within the Coordination of Open University and Digital Education. She holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from UNAM, a Master’s degree in Asian and African Studies (focusing on Japan) from El Colegio de México, and a Bachelor’s degree in Hispanic Language and Literatures from UNAM.

She works on the design, development, and evaluation of AI-supported educational interfaces tailored for open, distance, and blended learning modalities, open education resources as well as research on learning through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). An active Wikipedian since 2012, Dr. Bucio-García served on the education board of Wikimedia Mexico from 2018 to 2024, and she regularly integrates Wikipedia into her courses as a pedagogical tool to foster digital literacy and collaborative knowledge building.
