Marina Aminy

Marina Aminy is an Associate Vice Chancellor at the Foothill-De Anza Community College District and Executive Director of the California Virtual Campus, where she leads statewide initiatives that expand equitable access to high-quality online education across California’s 116 community colleges. She has long been committed to advancing open education as a strategy for student equity, affordability, and completion.
Prior to her current role, Marina served as Dean of Online Education at Saddleback College, where she helped grow and institutionalize the college’s Open Educational Resources and Zero Textbook Cost programs from about 2% of all courses to more than 40% within four years. Her work supported faculty adoption of OER, Career Technical Education ZTC pathways, and strengthened campuswide capacity for affordable, student-centered course design.
Marina also served for two years as Executive Vice President of the Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources, contributing to national conversations about open education, policy, sustainability, and faculty leadership. She is honored to serve as an OEGlobal Awards reviewer in 2026 and to help recognize the individuals and organizations advancing open education around the world.
