The editorial team for these two books, a diverse and distributed team in different locations of the world (United Kingdom, Canada and Greece), worked over several months together to release the highly successful crowd-sourced, open-access book early in 2023. They curated emerging experimentations on learning and teaching with GenAI.
Their call brought together 101 Ideas from Educators, Researchers and Students from 18 countries and captured the GenAI landscape at the time and creative uses in this area as the wider open educational community responded overwhelmingly positively, and generously agreed to share their ideas with anybody in the world.

- #OA Book: 101 Creative Ideas to Use AI in Education (June 23, 2023)
- #OER: Towards AI Literacy (June 18, 2024)
The impact of this work on my role as an open supporter and advocate, as well as on the larger education community, has been profound and transformative. The collaborative and inclusive approach demonstrated by the editorial team has provided a powerful model for how open educational practices can be effectively implemented and scaled. Their success in bringing together diverse voices from around the world to share innovative ideas on using AI in education has inspired me to further embrace and advocate for open, collaborative projects in my own work.

As an open educational resource, the project encompasses the breadth of quality one wishes to see; contributors collected and edited the ideas about AI in education in a meaningful way. The project is beneficial for various communities; students can draw information from the ideas relevant to artificial intelligence, and educators can leverage it to optimize their teaching and pedagogy.

This is a celebration of what I call ‘little people’, meaning you don’t have to be a big shot to do something powerful. You only need the willingness to share, the caring for others, and the belief that wonderful things can happen when we work together. In this case, AI is also a hot topic: one we all have been forced to face in one way or another and all of a sudden; the celebrity of the initiative to crowd-source these ideas is commendable.
