Maria Luisa Zorrilla

Dr. María Luisa Zorrilla holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Communication and Education from institutions in Mexico and the United Kingdom. She is an academic researcher and faculty member at the Institute of Education Sciences at the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos (UAEM) in Mexico. Additionally, she serves as the General Director of Multimodal Education (e-UAEM), an institutional initiative aimed at strengthening the use of ICT and virtual learning environments within the university community.

Her work in promoting the creation and implementation of MOOCs on Digital Culture in Spanish has been recognized with various awards, including the 2024 Open Education Award (Educator category).

Her academic publications include book chapters that document experiences related to the production and implementation of MOOCs, particularly the incorporation of strategies such as storytelling and gamification. She also coordinated the development of a guide on quality indicators for digital educational resources, published as a digital book.
