Mountain Heights Academy, formerly the Open High School of Utah, was the first secondary school to design and deliver its entire curriculum as open educational resources (OER). Each year, the courses are refined and tailored to better meet the needs of students, ensuring continuous improvement and relevance.
In 2014, the academy expanded its innovation by debuting self-paced, mastery-based OER elective courses, including a popular Music Theory class—giving students greater flexibility and ownership of their learning journey.
